Chances that U.S. President Donald J. Trump would be impeached and removed from the White House went down slightly today between 9:18 am and 7:29 pm. According to news from Reuters, Mr. Trump’s approval rating this morning was below 36%. The United States’ war with Iran was showing no signs this morning of easing up. Meanwhile, the economy is weighing on voters.
Speaking of voters, there are, according to Reuters, eight U.S. Senate seats in play. The Democrats need a net gain in seats in the Senate with no losses on the their part. Meanwhile, political forecaster Nate Silver gives a probability of 58.6 that the Democratic Party will obtain control of the U.S. Senate, up from a recent probability of 50.6.
Kalshi has the U.S. Senate race coming out in favor of the Democrats, 53-47.
I still maintain the Republicans will keep the U.S. Senate. By how much, I do not know. Currently, the Republican Party holds 53 seats in the U.S. Senate while the Democratic Party holds 45 seats with two independents, Bernie Sanders and Angus King, caucusing with the Democrats.
