Yesterday was the last day that I published my interbank market news scan. Why? Because there are too many sources from which readers can obtain data on currencies, gold, and silver. I had been citing Reuters data on gold, silver, and major currencies and I would encourage my readers to keep looking at Reuters’ data.
My focus will primarily be on what’s happening in the courts, specifically the U.S. Supreme Court, the US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the US District Court-District of Maryland, and the Supreme Court of Maryland. I will also stay abreast of the Maryland General Assembly as the senators and delegates consider bills that reference artificial intelligence.
The number of bills in the Maryland General Assembly that address artificial intelligence is small and appear focused primarily on health care and labor. Those bills are in the early stages of review.
There has been a lot of banter from enthusiasts of artificial intelligence that labor markets will see a lot of disruption as AI replaces labor over the next two to five years. And while the number is small, there may be increases in labor market dysfunction as recent college graduate cannot find work and older workers will have to learn new skills that take them into other markets.
