2:08 pm. Netanyahu begins his remarks. “We meet today in the crossroads of history”, says, Netanyahu, telling Congress that in the Middle East there is a clash between barbarism and civilization” and that America and Israel must stand together.
Mr. Netanyahu’s main points during his almost hour-long address was to paint a picture of solidarity between Israel and the United States based on political commonality, to report that progress on the war with Hamas was being made and that the conflict can only be resolved quickly with immediate and additional help from the United States; and that there would be no two-state solution with Palestine.
By 3:05 pm, the USD/ILS ticked up 25 pips to 3.6495.
