This morning, I sent U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock and U.S. Representatives Nikema Williams and David Scott an email message about Federal Reserve chairman Jerome Powell’s upcoming testimony to Congress. He appears tomorrow before the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs and on Wednesday before the U.S. House Committee on Financial Services.
“Looking forward to you asking Federal Reserve Board of Governors chair Jerome Powell pointed questions on the federal funds rate and how the rate setting process impacts neighborhoods, particularly pursuant to the Community Reinvestment Act.”
Hopefully Georgia residents can hear substantive questions about Federal Reserve policy. It would be extra special giving that the federal reserve bank for the 6th district sits here in Georgia.
