At 10:06 am as President Joe Biden began delivering remarks from Tel Aviv, the EUR/USD was 1.05475 and GBP/USD was 1.21622.
Mr Biden reiterated that the United States supported Israel; that the Jewish state would not stand alone. Mr Biden also noted that the United States saw no higher priority than getting back American hostages.
While Mr Biden stated that “Israel must be a safe place for the Jewish people”, he acknowledged the losses suffered by the Palestinian people and observed that Hamas does not represent the majority of Palestinians.
Finally, Mr Biden stated his support for a two-state solution.
By 10:19 am, the EUR/USD was at 1.05538 and the GBP/USD was at 1.21693.
